How to Find Your Hat Size

A beautiful hat begins with a comfortable fit. Follow Gwendolyne’s measuring guide to find your measurements before choosing your hat.

Before you begin

Use a soft cloth measuring tape. Check its position in a mirror, or ask a friend to help. Measure two or three times for accuracy and write down your exact measurements in inches. Keep the tape comfortably snug, not tight.

Your three measurements

Use the letters in the illustration below to guide you.

  • A — Head circumference: Place the tape on your forehead and wrap it gently around your head, above your ears. Include the widest part at the back of your head.
  • B — Ear to ear: Measure from the tip of one ear to the tip of the other, over the top of your head.
  • C — Front to back: Measure from the centre of your forehead to the back of your head, as shown in the illustration.
